Q&A

1. Describe your style in 3 words

Classic, effortless and minimal.

2. How does your style change during pregnancy, if at all?

I don’t think my style has changed too much during pregnancy, I’ve just had to adapt my approach to getting dressed. I’ve tried to purchase as little maternity as possible and shop larger sizes in my usual shops, this way I can get as much wear as possible out of everything. One thing I do miss, is tucking tops in!

3. What are your favourite maternity wear brands and why?

I love Nine the Label for dresses - they’re aimed at pregnancy and beyond which is great and all their styles are nursing friendly. Beyond Nine is another I’ve discovered over the past few months and I wear their items almost daily!

4. What are your top 5 general wardrobe staples?

  1. A good pair of blue straight leg jeans
  2. An oversized white tshirt
  3. A black loafer
  4. A well structured blazer
  5. A black satin midi dress (All interchangeable items!)

5.What are your top 5 pregnancy wardrobe staples?

As we’re in Summer;

  1. A white ribbed vest
  2. Linen trousers (black and cream)
  3. Birkenstock arizonas
  4. A white linen shirt
  5. A drop waist dress

6. Any products you can’t live without during the first few years of having kids?

I think I've used my Tiba & Marl Buggy Organiser every single day since Blake was born - it's small but mighty! And this isnt exactly a product but just a good self-care routine - there's nothing I NEED more than to unwind and relax in the bath after a day of parenting!

7. What are your top 3 maternity styling hacks?

When shopping for dresses I’ve looked for ribbed or shirred waists to avoid buying maternity specific.

Jean extenders are great! Especially if you’ve got an amazing vintage pair that you still want to get the most wear out of.( I just opt for a longer top to cover the top of the band.)

Not entirely a styling hack, but it’s always worth checking preloved sites before you buy full price if you are investing in maternity wear. It’ll save you money, you’re shopping sustainably and you can pass it on afterwards.

8. Are there any brands/services/individuals you want to shoutout for expecting mamas?

Yes! I hadn’t discovered this first time around, but now I’m loving finding out about the rental services - For The Creators for renting maternity wear and Baboodle for renting baby equipment!

9. Ultimate softplay outfit?!

At the moment anything I can fit into! But seriously, the loser the better. My most recent soft play outfit was a pair of linen trousers, oversized white tshirt and a classic pair of Birkenstocks.
